A1 - Good Typography?

I chose this image because from afar, it looks simple, with a lot of negative space. But closer, it’s a complex design of typography.

This image was created as a PSA for The Prevention Plan to draw attention to all of the diseases and health conditions that can be prevented. All of the health issues are used to create the shape of a scorpion, a recognizable symbol of danger. Yet the message is to teach the public that with proper prevention, health risks will be less scary. The purpose is to bring awareness to these health risks, and to the prevention plan itself. The Prevention Plan is a resource to provide support and encouragement to help members of the plan to adopt healthier habits and behaviors. This specific image is advertising the knowledge that the plan can offer. The typography contributes to the message by showing the “scary and unknown,” health terms that often scare people. That is the concept of this image, as it is entirely built out of the text.
